The US President released the information in a tweet today, boasting the “top five ISIS leaders” had been captured.

The captured men are believed to include Ismail Alwaan al-Ithawi, who is a top aide to Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Two intelligence officials said those captured included four Iraqis and one Syiran who governed ISIS territory around Deir el-Zour, Syria, directing internal security and running the administrative body which oversees religious rulings.

Those arrested included Syrian Saddam al-Jammel, a Syrian who was head of the ISIS territory around Deir el-Zour, and Abu Abdel al-Haq, an Iraqi who had been the chief of internal security.
